THE TALENTED ALLEGRA ANDERSON LAUNCHES ZERO-WASTE LIFESTYLE BOUTIQUE...GLAZED SOLD TO NEW OWNER

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

ALLEGRA ANDERSON LAUNCHES NEW EARTH-FRIENDLY BOUTIQUE

The oh-so-incredibly-talented photographer, Allegra Anderson recently launched her own online environmentally conscious boutique and it's a must visit! Allegra Lifestyle offers a range of plastic-free and low-waste products for your home, body, and life. Allegra was inspired to live a healthier, cleaner lifestyle when she became pregnant with her son in 2017. Later, she wanted to help people find the products that were good for them and the Earth. Many of the goodies on her site are local to Connecticut. To further reduce the impact, she offers FREE local drop-off for Glastonbury residents. Allegra started her career in Photography specializing in everything from portraits and personal branding to commercial and editorial clients. She also did stills for the TV show, This Old House and even won an Emmy in 2011 for work as a producer on a documentary about the rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Her work has been repeatedly published in the New York Times and This Old House Magazine. As a person, Allegra is one of THE KINDEST people we have ever had the privilege to meet and will instantly put you at ease. Find her on Instagram: @allegralifestyle @allegraanderson @lovebyallegra, browse her new website HERE, or visit her in-person this Wednesday September 15th at the Rocky Hill Farmer's Market from 4:00 to 7:00 PM where she sells some of her products.

GLAZED POTTERY SOLD TO A NEW OWNER

Glazed Pottery Painting & Art Studio has been sold to a new owner! Kim Reid sold to her long-time manager, Laura Valvo. Laura helped Kim build the business from the ground up. She is quite passionate about all things Glazed, although she has actually had no formal art training. She learned to get creative from her carpenter dad who encouraged Laura and her siblings to create with materials around the house. Glazed offers classes, camps, and events for ALL AGES. Laura is super excited to be a part of the local business community. When you stop in, give her a big congrats. Best of luck to Laura as she navigates the small business world!

MINI UPDATES...

TAPAS SCOOP

We have had multiple people reach out to us about the new Tapas location going in on Hebron Avenue (old Mulberry Too and Spicy Green Bean location). We talked with a team member from their Bloomfield location last week and they said they are having some issues getting equipment for the space. The opening is delayed and they don't have a timeline yet. We know it's in-demand, so we will keep on it and let you know when we hear more.

GLASTONBURY FUNERAL HOME PROPERTY

The Glastonbury Funeral Home property recently sold to the Schwartz's. The property has been up for sale for some time. They are currently leasing out both the business and residential space on the property. We are hearing there are plans for development, but not for some time. STAY TUNED...

SPACE OPEN NEXT TO BIRCH HILL

The cleaners next to Birch Hill Tavern closed their doors a few weeks ago. The owner had been telling customers about the difficult decision to close for some time. We think this is such an ideal location! What would you like to see there? Email us: thescoopglastonbury@gmail.com
