HERE’S THE SCOOP…
TURNER HOME IMPROVEMENT'S FOCUS ON CUSTOMERS DRIVES SUCCESS
When you sit down and talk with Corey Turner about Turner Home Improvement, you can hear the pride in his voice. The company was started in 1955 by Corey's grandfather who left a sales job at a national home improvement company when he was denied a raise (he was the #2 salesperson in the country). Turner Home Improvement soon became one of the largest home improvement companies in the state. Over six decades in operation, the company has had its ups and downs. In the 1970's, they were forced to split into different companies, but the family always remained close and worked together. Corey's dad ran the Glastonbury-based location for years before Corey took it over in 2007. And, get this, Corey was prepping for a takeover as far back as elementary school when he told someone his life plan which included being the head of Turner Home Improvement (We just love when a dream comes to life). Corey has since expanded to service not just single family homes, but condo complexes and capital improvement projects. The company provides mostly exterior updates...think ROOFING, SIDING, WINDOWS, DOORS, AND DECKS. Speaking of roofing...if you are in the market, now is the time! The season is just getting started and they can get a crew out now. See some incredible before and after photos below or call for a FREE estimate 860.633.1400. Their mantra has always been to put customers first. The customer experience is at the core of what they do, making sure jobs are done right and on time. And oh...you'll get a live person on the phone when you call (IMAGINE THAT!).

INTERIOR BUILD-OUT UNDERWAY AT BELGIAN WAFFLE PLACE
Build out has been under way to the interior of Zinneken's Belgian Waffles for weeks, so we popped by to check it out and it looks AWESOME! Truly gorgeous decor for this fun little spot expected to OPEN sometime in May. This is the 3rd location for this Boston-based company that started as a food truck and brick and mortar in Harvard Square. The founders are from Belgium and couldn't find a true Belgian Waffle in the U.S. so they started Zinneken's. The name originates from a river running through the center of Brussels called The Zenne River. The Glastonbury location will be owned and operated by a local couple. They offer two types of waffles: Liege (soft and chewy) and Brussels (light and crispy) along with a variety of indulgent toppings and some fancy coffee drinks. It's going to be a great spot for gathering with friends and we cannot wait!
INDOOR GO-KARTS COMING TO SPENCER STREET IN MANCHESTER
There is a new indoor go-kart venue taking over the old Holiday Lanes Duckpin Bowling in Manchester. It's just past Flight Adventure Park (a.k.a. Jump Off) on Spencer Street. The building needs a huge renovation, so not sure their timeline for opening just yet, but we will keep you posted. Such a fun activity for the kiddos and SO close!

HELP SANDY CASSANELLI REACH HER GOAL OF $1 MILLION DOLLARS
In addition to dealing with the pandemic that has tested everyone's strength, Sandy Cassanelli has had to deal with one failed treatment after another for her breast cancer diagnosis. In November, she started a new treatment that has left her with painful sores on her tongue and in her mouth, burning of her hands and feet, and a full body rash. But the treatment is working and she continues her fight to find a cure for Metastatic Breast Cancer through her non-profit, Breast Friends Fund. In March, she is typically gearing up for her Taste the Cure event, but is postponing it until large gatherings are safe. You can still donate to help her reach her goal of raising $1 million dollars. Every cent goes toward research to find a cure! Click HERE to donate.
