HERE’S THE SCOOP…
WHY CHOOSE A CARL GUILD REALTOR
Carl Guild has steadily grown his real estate brokerage firm to include multiple offices and featured communities. He most recently opened a location here in Glastonbury (Carl Guild & Associates on Hebron Avenue) and is excited to bring his level of service to the area. The team prides themselves on their client-centered service, giving back to the communities they serve in the form of scholarships and donations, and offering their signature moving truck for FREE not only for clients, but also to non-profit and town organizations that need it. You'll find the difference with Carl Guild realtors is in their flexibility to better market your property. To them, it's not one-size-fits-all. They market properties based on unique characteristics whether it be a condo, waterfront home, or luxury home. They are able to creatively adapt to the needs of a particular property. Wendy Lang has been in the business locally for years and recently joined Carl to help open the Glastonbury office. They are both super easy to work with and love what they do! HOME DECOR BOUTIQUE MOVING
One of our absolute faves is not only moving, but EXPANDING (woohoo!). 2400 Main will soon takeover the first floor of the yellow, colonial house on the corner of Main and Hebron. Owner, Stacy Britnell is excited to expand into the CT River Valley Chamber space. She opened about a year ago in the lower level of this same house (the old Sow's Ear). When the Chamber had to make some changes due to COVID, they asked Stacy if she wanted the first floor (100%!). Renovations are currently underway to the the new space...melding the old historic accents with new, fresh changes (think...new paint and flooring/old sconces and wood trim). We have some pretty gigantic plans with her for opening the new space. You definitely don't want to have FOMO on this one people so STAY TUNED! Timeline is November...
CT RIVER VALLEY CHAMBER CHANGES
This leads us to our next story about changes happening at the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce! Along with their move upstairs in the same location, they have a new chamber President, Jessica Olander. She has been working closely with many of the business owners in this Chamber throughout past years. She was previously manager of the Marlborough Business Association and has vast experience in event planning. She is currently in go-mode finalizing the Apple Harvest Festival's big return this year. New at the festival this year is an APP for the event. Click HERE for access. Pies are available for order online HERE. Admission to the festival is FREE. And, they will accept credit cards at more locations. The Scoop team will be serving at the pub this year on Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00 PM. Come see us!
MAGGIE COVIELLO'S NEW SPACE IN THE BARN
Long-time Glastonbury resident Maggie Coviello worked in the corporate world for three decades before taking the leap to follow her true passion for skincare. In 2015, she went to school for Aesthetics and never looked back. In addition to working locally for a well-known skincare business, Maggie recently started her own business, Maggie's Aesthetics. Her focus is on body and facial waxing and electrolysis. Electrolysis is FDA-approved and the only hair removal treatment that can PERMANENTLY get rid of all hair types including grey, red, and blonde. Maggie loves treating her clients one-on-one in a warm and inviting environment. This helps put them at ease, especially since some of the treatments require complete privacy. Her brand new space in The Barn (the recently renovated old Appalachian Tails on Griswold Street) is gorgeous and NOW OPEN for anyone interested in her services. She will also hold a GRAND OPENING on October 21st from 5:00 to 8:00 PM if you'd like to pop in and meet her. Website: HOME | Maggies Aesthetics
DO GOOD SCOOP...
OCTOBER EVENTS TO BENEFIT BREAST FRIENDS FUND
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there are many fundraisers taking place, but we wanted to showcase one in particular that is not only local, but impacts one of our own Glastonbury residents. Breast Friends Fund founder, Sandy Cassanelli. Sandy recently received some very discouraging news about her ongoing treatment for Metastatic Breast Cancer (NO CURE for this type of cancer)....it's not working. In spite of this news, she continues to fight and has planned an entire month of events with local businesses aimed at raising money for Breast Friends Fund. Her non-profit is unique in that EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR raised goes directly toward research to find a cure. A few of the events are highlighted below, but for a complete list or to donate directly, click HERE.
