OLD SCHOOL STEAM TRAIN EXPERIENCE COMING TO CAVANNA'S
Remember when we told you that John Cavanna of Cavanna's Farm was building a full-size train track featuring a steam train locomotive on his property? Well...his 1928 Vulcan Ironworks locomotive arrives this week and he will start offering a hands-on train experience this Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th. For $35, you can operate the steam train...literally climb right in the cab, shovel coal, and be the conductor! Cavanna has big plans for the farm...eventually transforming it into a one-of-a-kind destination with train rides to the "North Pole" in passenger cars he will soon renovate. Those and a log cabin in the woods featuring Santa will be done by Christmas 2020. Truly a magical experience right here in Glastonbury! Stay tuned. CHOO-CHOO!
GLITTER GLASTONBURY TO OPEN AS SPA FOR GIRLS
Opening in February 2020 is a world of fun for girls! Glitter will feature throne chair pedicures, chocolate facials, pink signature drinks, a candy bar, a create your own bath station and a how-to beauty bar for tweens and teens (could they ask for anything more?!). It's owned by Melissa from Polka Dots, which closed YESTERDAY. She was originally moving to another state, but her plans have changed. Glitter will be located at the house on the corner of New London Turnpike and Sycamore (next to Harry's Pizza). Can't wait to see her finished space!
GINGERBREAD WORKSHOP AT WESTFARMS
How fun is this for the holiday season? Westfarms has added a temporary Gingerbread Workshop to their offerings. The pop-up features giant gingerbread houses for kids to see and small ones for them (or anyone) to assemble. You can pick your own decorations and put it together for a fun experience for the whole fam! See pics below.
