Square Peg Pizzeria is opening a second location on Talcottville Road in Vernon. They have purchased the building where Little Mark's Big BBQ was located. Renovations are currently underway. They hope to be open before the end of the year. They also have some exciting things in the works for the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of the Glastonbury Square Peg location. Follow The Scoop for details COMING SOON.
GALLERY BEING SOLD TO NEW OWNERS
The Gallery is being sold to a new owner. The previous, longtime owner, Pam McCue passed away suddenly and her family decided to sell. We will be in touch with the new owner soon and find out his plan for the property. It's such a prime location in the center of town...it will be interesting to see what they do with it.
SARTORIUS SPORTS CLOSING GLASTONBURY LOCATION
Sartorius Sports near Whole Foods recently sent out a message to customers announcing the closure of their Glastonbury location. They cited the current situation with COVID and the impact it's had on their business. They plan to transfer their inventory to their Avon store September 27th. Until then, many items are 20%-50% off. See their full statement below.
DO-GOOD SPOTLIGHT...
GLASTONBURY WOMAN HAS RAISED TENS OF THOUSANDS FOR CANCER RESEARCH
Glastonbury resident, Carol Fishman started volunteering and fundraising for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer to help remember the mother of her two stepsons who died from the disease. She has since had family and friends who have either been diagnosed with or died from cancer, but she continues the fight, urging those around her to get screened and know their family history. Over the years, she has helped raise $77,000 to help support research and education, patients, and access to care for those in need. This year, the Making Strides event will be different, but Carol will be there and she hopes you will too! Sunday, October 4th, there will be a pink parade from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Founders Plaza in East Hartford. To participate or donate, click HERE.
