HERE’S THE SCOOP…
SCHOOL OF ROCK'S NEW, NEARBY LOCATION
We could not be more excited for this! School of Rock is opening a new location in the old Shampoo One building on the East Hartford/Glastonbury line. Scott Rownin owns School of Rock West Hartford and is excited to bring this unique music lesson concept east of the river. School of Rock offers guitar, bass guitar, drum, singing, keyboard and piano lessons. The difference is that they form bands with their students and then BOOK THEM GIGS at real venues. For example, the West Hartford location already has a lineup for their bands at multiple locations throughout the state. The kids play a full set of songs that they learn through their time at School of Rock! HOW COOL IS THAT?! They are currently building out the new space and hope to be open by the end of this year. Good things come to those who wait and we CANNOT WAIT for this! Check out their West Hartford site HERE or call for info (860.973.7625) if you'd like to get started right away. They also offer FREE trials to see if it's the right fit.
APRIL & CO TO FORMER "JUST BE" SPACE
April & Co., the salon in the purple and lime green house on Main Street just before the Route 3 overpass, is moving to the former Just Be space in the building on the East Hartford/Glastonbury line. April has been in town for decades and recently posted about the move saying that she is renovating the new space and will open in about a month. See the article below to learn more about the business that will be taking over her old space.
PURPLE DENTAL GOING INTO OLD APRIL & CO.
Purple Dental (appropriately named) will move into the purple house on Main Street (formerly April & Co.). Dr. Sam Shivareddy and his family will be opening their second dental practice there. They currently run Crest Dental in Hartford. They have some impressive Google reviews. Stay tuned for a timeline.

GLASTONBURY RIVER RUNNERS 'RACE TO FILL THE PANTRY'
On Sunday, November 6th, local running group, Glastonbury River Runners (led by Jason Marshal) will hold their annual Race to Fill the Pantry. And, for the 10th year in a row, CT Trial Firm will be naming sponsor. The group welcomed Attorney Ryan McKeen with open arms when he was searching for a running group to join. Proceeds from the race go to the Glastonbury Food Pantry and the Glastonbury/East Hartford Magnet School. FUN FACT: Students from the school compete each year to be chosen as the designer for the bags given to runners at the end of the race! The race is also a huge supporter of the Connecticut chapter of Achilles International. The organization helps people with impairment safely cross the finish line when participating in a race. CT Trial Firm has many clients with lifelong injuries in need of Achilles services. To register for the race, click HERE.

*FUN STORY: A dog from Glastonbury won the Dock Dogs competition at Orvis in Manchester, VT a few weekends ago. We happened to be there and captured this picture! Dexter is going to Nationals to compete in the highest jump contest.
*The Glastonbury Town Council is considering a proposal to add a mural to the underside of one of the overpasses in town. The organization, RiseUP for Arts is partnering with 39 communities across the state to create large-scale, highly visible murals that will depict the message and symbol of the world of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The murals will be customized to highlight individuals who have made an impact in each of those communities as well.
