PLAYA BOWLS OPENING TIMELINE... PLUS, DAIRY QUEEN UPDATE!

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

PLAYA BOWLS RENO UNDERWAY

Renovations are underway to the new Playa Bowls going into Somerset. It will be located in the former Jeri James Boutique near Starbucks. This location is owned by the same guys as the West Hartford Playa Bowls. Mike Bogdan and Mitch Jackson went to UConn together and decided to partner on both ventures. After college, Mike was actually roommates with one of the founders of Playa Bowls (Rob) just prior to when he started the unique concept in a cart on the Jersey Shore. Rob and his girlfriend Abby were surfer types and had grown to love acai bowls from their world travels. When they couldn't find them here, they started Playa Bowls in 2014 and have quickly grown to more than one hundred locations across the country. Mitch lives right here in town and will be a familiar face at the Glastonbury and West Hartford locations. They are aiming for a July opening so STAY TUNED! And, click HERE to see the menu.

DAIRY QUEEN LATEST

We recently heard that Dairy Queen on Main Street in Glastonbury is aiming to OPEN toward the end of this week. We know how there are some seriously die hard Dairy Queen fans out there so our goal is just to let you know to keep your eyes and ears open this week because their grand opening is imminent! We know this will be a huge hit in town and are excited to welcome them to Glastonbury!

AMAZON FACILITY APPROVED

A new Amazon facility will take over a vacant warehouse on Eastern Boulevard. The plan is to reconfigure and expand the parking lot and install a canopy to the outside of the building. The hub is essentially a last stop for the last few miles of product delivery. This could mean faster delivery times for Amazon customers. What's better than faster? Stay tuned for a timeline on the buildout.

CLOTHING BOUTIQUE ANNOUNCES OPENING DATE

The new clothing boutique taking over the former Nana's space on Main Street next to Century 21 recently announced they will OPEN July 17th! Gotta Have It will offer a curated selection of clothing, bags, and jewelry. We are excited for this and can't wait to check it out!
