MIKE WARD'S TEAM OF MORTGAGE EXPERTS AT GRA...PLUS, A LUTZ MUSEUM MEMBERSHIP WILL PAY FOR ITSELF

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

MIKE WARD'S TEAM OF MORTGAGE EXPERTS ARE THERE 24/7

Mike Ward is truly the best guy and he LOVES his job. Mike works for Guaranteed Rate Affinity offering mortgages to homeowners. Mike and his team at GRA are known for putting customers first and making the process fast and simple. Check out our video (BELOW) with them to learn more about this fantastic group of mortgage experts.

MEMBERSHIP OFFERINGS FROM THE LUTZ MUSEUM

For 64 years, The Lutz Children’s Museum has been putting learning in the hands of children. It was started by Hazel Lutz, the Chairperson of the Art Department in Manchester in the storage closet of her schoolroom. She traveled often collecting artifacts and trinkets from around the world and she thought these items would interest children. Her idea eventually grew into its current location on South Main Street. Today, The Lutz offers educational programs and experiences in culture, history, and the natural sciences to local schools, day care centers, community organizations, and scout troops. When our kids were pre-school age, we were there at least once a week! It's an incredible spot for them to not only learn, but to interact with other kids their age and get some energy out in their play area (big bonus!). They continue to offer special events such as birthday parties and will start a new adult lecture series in March. The kiddos can also see their Animal Ambassadors including Connecticut's official state groundhog, Chuckles. They have memberships which include FREE admission and classes. To apply, click HERE.

CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY FOR CHOPT (WOOHOO!)

We are super excited to see renovations happening in the former PetValu space. This will be Chopt Creative Salad Co. They offer make-your-own salads. A few things we think are pretty cool from them: Chopt Drop (a premier recurring delivery service for businesses...ummmm yes please!) and Chopt Catering (for your next event). Some of their custom salad bowls include the Kale Caesar, Palm Beach, Mexican Caesar, and the Santa Fe. We can't wait to try EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

BARIBAULT SISTERS HEADING TO BEVERLY HILLS WITH THEIR "B" BRACELETS

Two of our local faves are hitting the big time. Baribault Jewelers sisters, Christina Baribault-Ortiz and Raeann Baribault Schwartz's line of Power to B bracelets will be included in the gifting suite at the Academy Awards. The Hartford Courant reports that the sisters will give out 100 bracelets to celebrities at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The bracelets have inspiring messages including: B Strong, B Fearless, B Limitless, B Fierce, and B Badass. We can't wait to follow them and see how much fun they are having in California!

ODDS & ENDS...

*The Hartford Marathon Foundation (Glastonbury-based since 1994) recently announced the expansion of their youth running platform. The Susie Beris, MD Youth Running Program was made possible by a generous donation from Southbury pediatrician, Dr. Susan Beris. The new programs will offer opportunities to kids in grades 6 through 12. For more information or to register, click HERE.

*The Glastonbury High School Crew team is now working out in the former Edge Fitness sales space on Main Street. The team typically works out in The Glastonbury Boathouse, but the gym and lower level of The Boathouse is closed for scheduled updates. The Boathouse remains OPEN for events. Local businessman, Dave Dumeer of Gorman & York helped the team secure the space. They will be there for the next couple of months.
