LOCAL BLOGGER'S INSPIRATIONAL BACK STORY...PLUS, A FEW SPOTS LEFT FOR NEW MEMBERS AT ORCHARD HILL POOL CLUB

HERE’S THE SCOOP…

YOU NEED TO FOLLOW WELL AND FULL ON INSTAGRAM

If you want to see and potentially mimic the most gorgeous and healthful meals, you need to follow Well and Full on the Insta! Bolton-native, Sarah Hryniewicz (née Aldrich) started this passion project ten years ago because of her true and deep love for food, which was cultivated by her godmother, Fatima, who is Portuguese and encouraged her to order small plates and try everything. Although it's evolved over the years, her Insta now mainly focuses on plant-based foods with non-veggie accents. She has a fascinating background, including a stint in France and later a meeting with one of her idols, Jacques Pepin (she drank champagne with him!) at Stone Acres Farm in Connecticut. She was a finalist for PETA's 'Sexiest Vegan Next Door' contest, has been featured in BuzzFeed, Good Housekeeping, and more, and has received 5-6 offers from cookbook publishers. But, honestly, Sarah's journey to now has not been easy. She was forced to leave two different jobs after being diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and an autoimmune condition that causes severe pain in her joints. She is doing better and trying to showcase health through food. We did a deep dive on her Instagram and it is truly SO. MUCH. FUN. TO. WATCH. Follow her for lots of amazing recipes, fun dinner party videos (including cocktails and dessert), and helpful food tips! We promise you will learn something you didn't know. ODDS & ENDS...

*Sponsored by Glenbrooke Kids Camp

*The new owners of Red Fox Prime will call it Hidden Bistro and offer a new American cuisine style menu when they rebrand and reopen. They are awaiting a few things but...fingers crossed...will be opening at the start of April.

*The Interact Club at Glastonbury High School is hosting a Pickleball Tournament on May 4th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Oakwood Sports Center. The tournament is being held to raise awareness about mental health. There will be several mental health related booths and activities. If you'd like to register as a Pickleball team, click HERE.

*Also, along the lines of mental health, Glastonbury Public Schools, Youth & Family Services, Glastonbury Police Department and Welles Turner Library are coming together to host a very important event for parents of kids K-6th. On April 23rd from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the GHS auditorium, there will be a viewing of 'Screenagers'. This is a movie that will outline how screens negatively impact kids' mental well-being. There will be a Q&A following the screening of the movie. A MUST SEE! Details in the flyer below.
