HERE’S THE SCOOP…
BUSINESS IS BOOMING IN MIDDLETOWN AND YOU CAN BE PART OF IT
Business is back baby and now is the time to make your dream come to life. What is your dream? Opening your own restaurant...clothing boutique...new concept business? Well, we have just the spot to start your new venture. If you haven't seen what's happening in Middletown, listen up! The city was recently on the cover of Connecticut Magazine for how well it's done not only during COVID, but for how it's grown in the last several years. From retail to restaurants, Middletown has been on the rise. Be part of this unique opportunity and check out 425 Main Street...a property recently purchased by Kushner Development that is slowly being renovated. It's ideal for retail or a restaurant (street level with high visibility), or office space overlooking the bustling downtown. Another not-to-miss spot is 62 Washington Street. This old building has such a cool vibe with brick and vintage wood features for your new or growing business. Check out both listings HERE or call to schedule a showing.

THE EDGE FITNESS COMING THIS FALL
Well, well, well...it's finally happening! The Edge Fitness is coming to Glastonbury! This has been one of the most inquired about stories for The Scoop. We have been fielding questions about it for an entire year (probably annoying our sources!) and are excited to see this come to fruition. The popular gym recently announced on Facebook that they will open this fall in the newly constructed building behind Chili's on Main Street. Follow them HERE for updates or information about membership.
MOTHER'S DAY EVENT WITH THE SCOOP AND 2400 MAIN
The Scoop Glastonbury is hosting a Mother's Day Sunset Soiree with 2400 Main (the new home decor boutique). It's Thursday, May 6th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Bring your mom or BFF, shop 'til you drop, and enter to win some UH-MAZING prizes from local businesses and 2400 Main. They have such unique items. WE. CAN'T. GET. ENOUGH. Look for the big balloon display (courtesy of Pink Flamingo Party Co.) on the sign outside the shop. It's located in the basement of the big yellow house on the corner of Main Street and Hebron Avenue. Pull into the lot as if you are going to Panera and it's to your right. We are pumped and can't wait to see you all there!
DO GOOD SCOOP...
TWO GLASTONBURY RESIDENTS NEED HELP TO SUPPORT CAUSE DEAR TO THEM
The Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut is hosting their 35th Annual Golf for Thought Tournament Monday, May 24th and you can be part of their mission to help with prevention and recovery of traumatic brain injuries. The event, held at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell (home of the Travelers Championship) is Monday, May 24th. They are currently looking for tee sponsors, items for their silent auction or good old fashioned monetary donations. Glastonbury's own Keith Corneau of United Steel (presenting sponsor) and Matt Somberg of Gottfried & Somberg Wealth Management (planning committee member) are working to make this year's tournament is the best yet. Both have a connection to BIAC. Keith's brother and uncle suffered brain injuries and Matt's family has been impacted by brain cancer. When the two took it over last year, they helped raise more than $100,000 for this worthy cause. To participate, click HERE or contact Lori Shield E: lshield@biact.org P: 860.219.0291 ext. 303.
