HERE’S THE SCOOP…
GOTTFRIED & SOMBERG IS A LEADER IN WEALTH MANAGEMENT
Josh Gottfried and Matt Somberg were in their early 20's when they met as interns at a financial company. The two realized quickly that they wanted to go out on their own and build a different kind of wealth management business (now Gottfried & Somberg Wealth Management). Fast forward 25 years and the two are now managing $2 billion dollars in client money (*as of June 2024) and have built one of the most premier wealth management firms in the country. You would never know it when you sit down and talk with them. They are super down-to-earth, easy to be around, and sincere. But don't take our word for it, watch their video to see their true nature and why they are so successful at what they do.
SASSANO'S TO BE NEW ITALIAN RESTAURANT
There is a new Italian restaurant going into the old Sassano's space near Lotties on New London Turnpike. Amici's (means "friends" in Italian) will offer pizza and authentic Italian dishes. The owner/chef also owned Rudy's Little Italy in Rocky Hill which has since closed down. He is currently gutting and renovating the space in Glastonbury and thinks it will take about four months before he is open. Stay tuned.
ICYMI: J. CREW FACTORY AND LULU TO EVERGREEN WALK
We could not be any more excited about this! Two of our absolute fave retailers are coming to Evergreen Walk. J. Crew Factory and Lululemon will soon establish stores there. J. Crew is going into the old Coldwater Creek space. Lulu is a pop-up store for 11 months (location TBD). We imagine they will stay if they get enough traffic, so hop to it people and give them some biz! No opening timeline yet for either, but we will let you know.

*A new Japanese restaurant is coming to the old Subway space near Webster Bank at 141 Hebron Avenue. Noodle House will take over the space. The owner lives in Glastonbury and has another very popular restaurant in Rocky Hill called Sushi House. She is currently working on renovations. We will let you know their timeline for opening.
*In the same plaza, Rush Bowls CLOSED down recently. The owners tell us it was part of their plan to retire at this point and are looking to do something else. Best of luck to them in whatever their new venture may be!
*ICYMI: The affordable housing development at the corner of Hebron Avenue and Manchester Road is moving forward. The Glastonbury Citizen is reporting that the town's Community Development Director told the TPZ that the owner of the property is still working through the design process for the sewer system, but as far as they know, the project is still slated to move forward.
*The owners of the Oxford Cleaners property at 2799 Main Street next to M&R Liquors are seeking approval to have a drive-through on the property so they can market the property to potential eateries. Nothing is final, but we are keeping an eye on this to see what happens there.
