HERE’S THE SCOOP…
FULLER YOGA STUDIO SPACE IS NEXT LEVEL
The Fuller Yoga space alone is worth the experience. The yoga and pilates studio inside Glen Lochen is inviting, peaceful, and bright...all the things you need for a relaxing yoga sesh. Owner, Lauren Fuller moved her studio to the 3rd floor of the mall in 2019 and has been offering her yoga classes in this treehouse-like atmosphere ever since. The space is ideal for feeling centered and calm with a view of the treetops from every angle. We love the way the light scatters on the floor to create a warm and enticing feel during classes. But perhaps the best part of Fuller is Lauren herself whose experience within the industry is vast and wide. She has studied under some of the most knowledgeable, best instructors in the entire world...Dharma Mittra in New York, Alison West at Yoga Union, and Godfrey Devereaux in Ibiza, Spain. Her original background is in dance (she lived in NYC to pursue a career there). But she found love in yoga and has been offering classes since 1998. Fuller Yoga now offers different types of yoga and mat pilates classes, pilates reformer classes, yoga for scoliosis, and more. To sign up for a class, click HERE.
THE NEW ROOTED PLAY STUDIO
We are excited to bring you a first look at this truly one-of-a-kind new business in Glastonbury. Rooted Play Studio is designed for kiddos ages 0 to 6 years old. They offer a diverse range of interactive activities that stimulate cognitive, emotional, and social development. Sisters, Christelle and Rachelle...combined their expertise as moms and in business...Christelle in the creative sector with her event decor business and Rachelle in the early childhood sector...to come up with this unique business idea. They've been eager to open their doors to moms as a gathering spot while their kids experience beneficial play. We cannot say enough about their renovations (behind Panera in the old Fuller Yoga space...go figure!). It's SWEET and WELCOMING and PEACEFUL...all the things you want for your littles. Right now, they have a range of classes and open play times. Click HERE to check out their schedule.
UPDATES TO DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT PLAN
We are getting another look at some new additions to the downtown development across from the fountain on Main Street. This includes two buildings to the left of the fountain (the building street level with Cycling Concepts (they are currently looking for someone to buy or become a partner in their business) and the building that is set down with Liquid Nirvana) which will be redeveloped entirely. The third building with the Mahogany Shoppe and Brides to Be will undergo renovations but keep its facade. We showcased this from a different angle a few weeks back. Part of the plan includes bringing DORO Marketplace and Zohara Mediterranean Kitchen to town. This updated rendering showcases the addition of a brick line trail leading from town to the dog park and riverfront, a Hawthorne tree, chess board, and fire element and some of the central pieces to the courtyard for gathering. We think it will be a great addition to town. A lot of people have worked very hard to make this something that enhances the downtown experience and we can't wait!
ODDS & ENDS...
*Sponsored by Moore Wellness Solutions
*The Foundry is a new restaurant taking over the former On20 space in the One State Street tower in Hartford. On20's former executive Chef Jeffrey Lizotte will open a new, elevated American style cuisine restaurant this fall! Stay tuned for a date! We cannot wait to try!
*We hear that the owner of the new Mediterranean restaurant, PITA, going into the old Max Amore space is moving forward with renovation plans to the space. Gina Luari is the head of the group that owns The Place 2 Be and RAW in Hartford. She announced plans to open PITA in Somerset awhile ago, but we hadn't heard much since. We are told that she was recently there going over the renovation plan. Excited to hear more about this!!!
*ICYMI: Blue Mercury recently closed its store at Somerset. This was on the corner next to Francesca's (also closed recently). We like to think this opens up an opportunity for some great new retails or restaurants to come in! What would you like to see there?
