OLD HITCHCOCK FURNITURE SITE PROPOSAL
We are so dating ourselves using this Hitchcock Furniture reference, but IYKYK, so whatev. Anywhooo...this is a proposal for an 8-30g apartment complex at the site on Griswold Street across from Naubuc School behind The Barn (visible from Route 3). The plan includes 316 units within five 4-story buildings, a pool and clubhouse, outdoor amenity space and parking for 474 cars. There are two access points for this site: one at 95 &131 Griswold and the other at 2938 Main Street (the empty gas station). We always thought a mini-Target should go here, but OK...we will continue to cover this apartment complex blitz happening in town. Thoughts?
ICYMI: NEW GELATO SHOP COMING TO MAIN STREET
We were so excited to hear that NOCI Gelato is coming to Glastonbury! This tiny little shop has a location in Old Wethersfield and is very popular. Glastonbury residents, Antonio and Larissa Lenoci are the owners of both locations. The two traveled to Italy and took classes on the gelato-making process before opening their Wethersfield location. What a great addition to Main Street Glastonbury! They are going through the approval process as we speak...stay tuned for their opening timeline.
EMILY ROSE CLOSING ITS LOCATION IN CENTER OF TOWN
Emily Rose Style Group is CLOSING. The long-time, well-known salon in the plaza across from Whole Foods will be shutting their doors March 28th. The owner, Emily Balducci tells us she wanted to spend more time with her two girls. The stylists are moving to Salon G on Naubuc Avenue and Alex Hair Studio in Glen Lochen. It's bittersweet for them to part after nearly 15 years together. We wish them the best of luck! On another note...what should go there?!
NEW FLOWER SHOP COMING TO NEW LONDON TURNPIKE HOUSE
There is a new flower shop coming to the old A 2 Z Home Medical in the cute little yellow house on New London Turnpike. Flower & Twine is currently renovating the space and aiming to OPEN within a month or so pending all town approvals. Standby for our feature story with owner, Kerin Smollen. Her background is super impressive and her arrangements are STUN-NING!

*We have heard from multiple people that Rooftop 120 is closing, but IT'S NOT. We reached out to the owner Evan Schwartz and he has told us several times that they are only closed temporarily until April for a refresh and will REOPEN.
