Verizon Wireless Zone on Main Street is hosting a Backpack Giveaway this Sunday, July 21st from 1:00 to 4:00 PM….no strings attached. Swing by to meet Nate and his super friendly, highly knowledgeable staff members. And, while you’re there, snap a picture and post it with the hashtag #wzgivesback. Should be an awesome day for an even more awesome cause.

NEW NAME AND NEW LOOK FOR DOWN TO EARTH COFFEE SHOP

Glastonbury residents Jessica Chenery and her mom, Deborah Rawlinitis, recently purchased Down to Earth Coffee Shop in Derr Plaza. The mother-daughter duo plan to keep the organic coffee and tea, along with the vegan and gluten-free baked goods, but will rebrand under a new name with a new and improved look. The new shop will be called Cup of Joy and will eventually have an expanded menu. The family is no stranger to the small restaurant biz…Jessica’s aunt and uncle owned The Mustard Seed Cafe where Bin 228 is now located. It was a popular sandwich spot, but closed down several years ago. Cup of Joy is expected to open the week of August 12th. We will keep you updated.
