HERE’S THE SCOOP…
CLEAR AUTOMOTIVE GROUP TO CELEBRATE 60 YEARS!
We love nothing more than the story of a decades-old business that is still thriving because they've been able to adapt and change well with the times. Clear Automotive Group is coming up on it's 60th year! The family-owned business includes Manchester Honda, Vernon Chevrolet, and Manchester Mazda. It is the continued legacy of Jon Larabee who started the business as a motorcycle dealership in 1964. His 3 children now run the entire operation. Current owner and Glastonbury resident, Jonathan Larabee began working with his parents in 1993 and is now the President of the company. Jonathan's sister is the Director of HR, and his brother manages the power sports department. IMPRESSIVE FACT: Many of their employees have been there for multiple years including one who has been onboard for more than four decades! In 2021, they rebranded to Clear Automotive Group and continue to build a business that is community and customer focused. Jonathan is quite the gem! A local dad who has raised three boys in Glastonbury with his wife, Annette, and is an integral part of the Glastonbury Rotary Club. The car industry has seen many changes over the years and the family continues to be successful! To learn more, click on their dealer websites below.
THE OLD GALLERY WILL BE BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE
Can you tell how excited we are about this story?!...We did it last week too. Market Hospitality Group's plan to bring two new restaurants to the old Gallery space is so great. The renderings are gorgeous and we know this will be a go-to spot for many. The Steel Barn (as they are calling it) will feature the group's signature Marketplace Kitchen & Bar and Mercado Italian Kitchen. Click on their names to preview their sites and menus. We were given a few more details from the architect where you can see the materials they are using. And, they designed the entire building around the big White Oak out front so it will continue to thrive! Our fave is the cozy outdoor fireplace. See you there!
ROTARY CLUB PURCHASES A THERAPY DOG FOR THE SCHOOL SYSTEM
The Glastonbury Rotary Club recently purchased a therapy dog with the help of Kate Johns-Galvin (the Principal of Eastbury) and Blue Path. The dog's name is ROTY (affectionately named after the club) and she will service the elementary schools throughout town. This is part of a larger effort by the Rotary Club to help alleviate the ongoing mental health crisis among young people. They have several initiatives in the works to help make an impact.
