HERE’S THE SCOOP…
NEW FLAVORING COMPANY SET TO LAUNCH
Kazaam Elixirs is pretty cool if you ask us. It’s a line of flavored elixirs that can be added to any beverage, including beer. The company, started by Josh Scavetta (a Glastonbury-native) and Shyam Kulkarni, is set to launch their line of unique and delightful flavorings this April. And…this one-of-a-kind brand is made right here in Glastonbury! They have a warehouse next to Oakwood Golf at the end of Oakwood Drive. We were excited to taste test their product and it delivers. The brightness of their orange and pineapple turned an ordinary Bud Light into an exciting new beverage. And, the watermelon and apple flavors in a made-just-for-us mixed drink were inviting and flavorful. Did we mention elixir means a magical or medicinal potion? Hmmm, seems fitting. FUN FACT: In a blind taste test, executives from one beverage company chose the orange flavored Kazaam drink over their own orange flavored drink. Say what? That’s impressive. Look for them soon in stores and establishments.
BREWERY COMING TO EAST HARTFORD
A new craft brewery is coming to Main Street in East Hartford. Paddle Creek Beer Company will be located at 1277-1287 Main Street near Cheek’s Chicken & Waffles. With beer names like Silence of the Pumpkin and Papa’s got a Brand New Stout, sounds like it will be a fun place to meet friends and drink beer! Check them out on Facebook to see some of their past products. They plan to open this fall!
THE EDGE FITNESS UPDATE
We get a lot of questions about the status of the proposal for The Edge Fitness behind Chili’s in town. The town passed plans for the project to move forward, but there is currently an ongoing lawsuit between The Edge and the owners of 80 Glastonbury Boulevard over zoning. The latest is that the zoning appeal is scheduled for trial this April. In other words, it’s stuck in court. Anything can happen between now and then and we will be sure to keep you updated! On another note, We-Ha.com reports that The Edge Fitness will open in Corbin’s Corner in West Hartford after plans were recently approved there. Below is a photo of one of their locations.
PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZER PUBLISHES HANDY BOOK
Donna Finocchiaro has been helping people get organized since 2004 as the owner of Lotus Transitions. She recently published a book on the topic called 30 Days to Organization. The book is actually a take action journal that includes tips to organize more efficiently and how to work through the organizing process. There is also a section where you can identify the different things that have helped you organize. As we write this, we think we really need to get organizing! Find this handy book HERE.
MARLBOROUGH’S POTENTIAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
The recent opening of Big Y in Marlborough is just the beginning for this virtually untapped market. The developers of that property also purchased other properties in that area and hope to eventually bring a daycare, gym, high end coffee shop and salon to town. There are several spaces available. Click HERE for more information. And, check them out below.
