HERE’S THE SCOOP…
SUMMERS AT GLENBROOKE ARE CHOCK FULL OF FUN
Raise your hand if you're ready for summer! We certainly are and we know exactly what will make it that much more fun. Glenbrooke Outdoor Sports Center recently added an array of activities and sports for some full-time fun! First is their brand new recreational day program that will keep the kiddos busy from morning through afternoon (restful nights for the whole fam is a WIN-WIN!). They have swim, tennis, basketball, soccer, double-dutch jump rope, crafts...the list goes on and on. Plus, the new Melissa J. Molin Memorial Soccer Field is almost finished and THIS Saturday, March 13th (Rain date: March 20th), the Center will hold tours for returning and potential new members. Stop by anytime 1:00 to 3:00 PM to get a first look and meet Ken Goodale, the director of Coerver East Soccer (he will run the new soccer program at Glenbrooke) and Dan Crovo, Glenbrooke's new General Manager. First 50 kids get a FREE t-shirt. We cannot say enough about the people in charge at Glenbrooke. They have a love and passion for this special spot like nothing we have ever seen. They truly want families to have the best old-fashioned summer! Built in 1964, it was a true labor of love and that mantra lives on to this day. Find more deets about all their offerings HERE or call Rose 860.682.8265 and plan your summer of fun TODAY.

The owner of Simple Greek has revamped again and will now open the brand new chain Incredible Edibles in the space at Somerset. They originally were going to open a new Greek eatery, but recently changed course. Incredible Edibles was started by the founder of Edible Arrangements, Tariq Farid. They will offer CBD infused, plant-based foods. Their website says their products are non-GMO, allergy friendly, gluten-free, vegan, kosher, halal, and organic. We are looking forward to this new concept! Renovations to the inside are well underway. Stay tuned for an opening date!
NEW RESTAURANT COMING TO MINNECHAUG GOLF COURSE
If you missed our big announcement on social last week, we are excited to let you know that Guilmette Golf is partnering with Tyler DeVaux (owner of The Hangar at Goodwin Park in Hartford) to open a new restaurant at Minnechaug Golf Course. The Tenth Hole Tavern will have modern, rustic decor and pub style American fare. The menu will have similar items to those at The Hangar. Tyler has been in the restaurant business for some time, including stints at Treva and Besito in West Hartford. Pending all town approvals, their goal is to open this spring. We are so excited!
PHYSICAL THERAPY CENTER TAKES OVER SOCCER STORE
A new physical therapy practice is taking over the space of the former Team Sports Store next to Strand Salon and Bricco. Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers is the state's largest private-practice physical therapy company with 28 locations around Connecticut. The clinic was started by PT Alan Balavender in Waterbury back in 2000. The company has grown through a partnership model and now each location is individually owned and operated by physical therapists.

TURNER HOME IMPROVEMENT: A FAMILY LEGACY OF GIVING BACK
In 1955, Corey Turner's grandfather started a home improvement business and sixty-six years later, Corey is now at the helm of Turner Home Improvement Contractors. He continues to run the business based on their core values of consistency, trust, prioritizing customers and giving back to the community. Corey grew up in town and started giving back as a kid through Glastonbury Rotary Club (his dad served as President). Now a member himself, Corey is deeply involved in the club's Baby Needs Drive for The Salvation Army and is the Chairman of the new Splash Pad Project. Corey's partnership with the club has helped him expand his reach as a business owner who wants to do good. His goal, always, is to use his business to give back and show his own children the importance of helping those in need.
