HERE’S THE SCOOP…
2-MINUTE NEAPOLITAN PIZZA AT THE SHOPS ON MAIN
Glastonbury residents, Joseph and Jacqueline Weiss are excited about the opening of their new venture…1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza. The fast-casual restaurant chain is the third business to sign on in the new development next to McDonald’s. It will be located next to Jersey Mike’s Subs in the back of the plaza. The Weiss’ were looking for something different and unique to bring to town. They did some research, found the pizza chain, and knew it would be the right fit for them and Glastonbury. The pizzas cook in 2-3 minutes inside a 1000-degree brick oven. The restaurant will open this September. Check out their menu at www.1000degreespizza.com
EUROPEAN/JAPANESE STYLE BAKERY OPENING SOON
RaonJena Coffee & Dessert will offer all kinds of sweet treats and light roasted coffee. The new shop in Glen Lochen will have macaroons, crepe and roll cakes, scones, and specialty coffees and teas. We think it’s interesting to note that Raon stands for HAPPINESS in Korean. And the full name, RaonJena, is the names of the owners’ two daughters. Their new space has been renovated into a simple design with light colors and wood finishes. It’s airy and inviting. Watch for their opening mid-June.

Polka Dots has just completed renovations of their new space called the Sugar Lounge. Girls 4 and up can now get manicures and makeovers without an appointment. There is also a Beauty Bar where they can make their own sugar scrubs, shower gels, and lotions. The nail service is $14.95 and includes lotion, pixie dust, a glitter ring tattoo and gem, and candy bracelet. What more could a girl want?! The playful new space is dreamy with pink and glitter galore. See for yourself in the pictures below. www.polkadotsgirls.com

There is a public hearing this week to discuss the removal of the Route 17 off-ramp that leads traffic to New London Turnpike across from Oak Street near Stop & Shop. This is one way to access some of the businesses in town. The hearing is this Thursday at 7 PM in Town Hall.
